Indy hit 105F in 2012. We were 1F shy of tying the record for hottest temp ever recorded here. I'm kind of surprised it wasn't a little hotter in Kentucky than here. That summer was the first time since 1988 that we hit 100. And we topped it a few times that summer. Haven't seen the century mark since then.

We got downgraded from yesterday's forecast for an enhanced risk of severe storms to just a slight risk now. SPC seems to think storm clusters out over Iowa will start to lose their intensity by the time they get here later this afternoon. I'd welcome more rain but I'll take it without the lightning and damaging winds if possible.

Today and tomorrow could be the 19th and 20th days to hit 90F here in Indy as well. We average around 18 such days per year. Yesterday was the 18th day. Then a strong cold front will have us end the week with highs only in the 70s!

I still have yet to 90F, but I've had 2 89s and many 88s and 87s

Bowling Green hit 110 in June 2012. Lexington isn’t that much hotter than Indy in summer.

Noticeably more humid today. Dewpoint reached 73F this morning. This is only our second day of the month hitting a 70+ dewpoint.

A massive line of storms that has marched from Iowa this morning is bearing down on us. But the most amazing part of today is the humidity. The dewpoint is actually 81F right now! Actual temp is just 82F. So air temp is 82. Heat index is 95! I don't think I've ever felt it this humid before here in Indy.

What station are you looking at? IND is 86 with a dewpoint of 75.

Meanwhile, ours is back down into the 60s

I could have sworn I was looking at Indy but perhaps it was Crawfordsville, about 30 miles west northwest of Indy. Still, several stations around here reporting dewpoint readings around 80.

Wow, I see Mt. Comfort is also at 81. I remember from going to air shows there that it’s surrounded by cornfields, so that may be helping.

Indy airport just reported a 73mph wind gust as the storms rolled in. Lots of reports of tree damage in western Indiana into the western suburbs of Indianapolis so far. Amazing that this line of storms started early this morning in Iowa.

Just saw that and came here to post the current radar with storm reports for past 1hr. All those icons with the arrows are storm damage reports from trees down, wires down, shingles blown off, ect. Crazy line of storms.
