So yeah, we didn't get any snow out of this system. It just caused Sunday's snow to melt instead. My friend in Kawartha Lakes claims he didn't get any snow either.
Time to harvest the last vegetables before it gets cold for good.

So as of when I left town for Christmas weekend (around 10am) this is how things looked.
Looks like about 1/2" so technically not really enough to qualify for a white Christmas. There might be some light flurries between the time I left and Christmas morning but I expect not enough to get to 1".
Can't say for sure because I'm Montreal now. Here in Montreal, there's a proper snowpack. Nothing special by Montreal standards, but still a respectable 6-8" snowpack.

Still looks good enough for a white Christmas for me, but this area looks like it's going to be the low end for the GTA as most of the city have a 2-3" snow cover. So meteorologists and me generally agree it's a white Christmas as a whole.

Yeah, I'm willing to call it a white Christmas based on my subjective criteria even if it doesn't quite meet the Envt Canada 2cm. The snow is fresh rather than half-melted remnants so it's not patchy or icy and it covers the ground well and even covers the evergreens and other surfaces.
It's definitely better than a Christmas when it's raining on top of old remnant snowpack where the ground is bare in some places, ice in other places and 5cm or hard icy snow in other places that averages out to 2.5cm at 7am (thus meeting the Envt Canada criteria) and melts away to nothing by 3pm for example.

Plenty of snow over here. Even chilled my Christmas Dinner drinks in the snowbank last night!
Lovely and sunny White Christmas I'd say.
