Bellingham had a great week of winter weather from December 18th to 23rd. First we got about an inch of snow in a heavy burst during the Arctic front the morning of the 18th followed by very cold temperatures and a big snowstorm (8 to 12 inches) the night of the 19th. Temperatures from the upper single digits to 20 degrees kept the powdery snowpack intact for the next few days before a major transition storm brought sleet and freezing rain on the 23rd, with about half an inch of ice coating most surfaces (shown in the first two pictures). Finally, the winds changed to southerly early the morning of the 24th, quickly melting all the snowpack.

I think I saw the sun 1 day this year so far.

Over 6 inches of RAIN this winter here in SW CT. 1 inch of snow.

Another day of rain this morning. 5 of the 6 days this new year. #Boring

"Amazing shots of Broome bound freight crossing the flooded Roebuck Plains under strict main road permits today.
Thank you to all of the emergency support workers, transport workers and people on the ground assisting with the recovery effort in the Kimberley!"
