Yes, good to hear some color is hanging on up there where you are.
You're already in NE Tennessee, so I'm curious, what's noticeably different about upstate SC or SW NC?

*BTW I love the southern Appalachains.

It has been absolutely BORING around SW Ohio this year. Not much in the way of rain, so all the leaves turned a muted yellow/green and then quickly turned brown or fell from the trees. What's left on the trees is NOT showing much color, if any at all. It's just dull. Bad Autumn for us.

We had fairly good foliage this year. They began turning color roughly mid-September; peaked around October 10th - October 15th; and now virtually all leaves are down, though some "below the hill" near the lake at lower elevations remain, albeit in a mostly dead, ugly state.

October 4th:

Creek valley, about 1100 ft:

Top of hill is 1450 ft:

October 11th, from West Duluth (625 ft; top of hill about 1100-1200 ft):

October 12th:

October 18th, from Carlton Peak:

TX, your pics are very pretty. Don't you like it in Mn? Are you originally from Texas~hence your name?

It's kind of odd because today as I was once again observing our change of season~it's Nov. already and close to half our trees still have their leaves. Our colorful bushes are still colorful and beautiful. We've been blessed with a beautiful and warm autumn. As I said before, generally by around the 20th of Oct., our trees are bare.

Oddly enough, we're starting to see color around my area now. Sporadic, but it's there....and prettier than I thought it would be. Not vibrant, but certain trees here and there ARE pretty....just not many leaves, since they've all been falling off. Very strange, because color usually starts breaking out around October 10th....give or take a few days, and peaks around the 19th-22nd.

Near peak colors here in central Oklahoma. Pretty typical on the timing this year. Colors actually seem more vibrant despite having only about 2 inches of rain in September and October.

beautiful pics tvdxer. You wont see autumn colours like that in the australian countryside! Almost all native vegetation here is evergreen.

All the trees and plants here aree fully bloomed. Started in early September, by early October it was a done deal.

Beautiful pics! We are just now beginning to see just a smidge of Fall color here in North Texas. I would say we often don't reach peak color till usually around Thanksgiving.
