An unofficial 341.1mm for the year and 82 hours for August as of the 15th. 1000mm for the year is possible - the record is 1011mm in 2000, but I hope it doesn't happen again soon because that was the year half the country was under water. 1000mm in 7.5 months would be apocalyptic for us. The embarrassing thing is that it hasn't felt like a dull month yet we've had nothing like the sun you've had, and this is our late-summer

I think it dries out a lot quicker here. I was talking to a recent immigrant from the UK (Norfolk) and he said he liked that you could do the lawns 10 minutes after it finished raining (like that is a good thing). A wet year here is about 1800 mm

The nearest town (Takaka) to the west of us is at 1500 mm so far for the year, but has had only 50 less sunshine hours for the year.

It's been a wet month here with 6.72 inches (170 mm), half of that falling since Saturday. Total for the year so far is 35.15 inches (893 mm), some of that precipitation being snow of course. Average for the year is approximately 50 inches (1270 mm). The more rain, the better.

August is usually the sunniest month here where % and length is factored in. Last year saw 270 hours being recorded so this year is definitely not going to reach anywhere around that mark thank goodness! Summer, here, has seen totals below 110 hours so not much difference in both countries...

Looks like winter went out with a bang with last week's snow storm and we've transitioned abruptly into spring. The next couple days have highs in the upper teens (mid 60s F) then the rest of the month looks to have overnight lows well above freezing and nearly uninterrupted sunshine.

So, Argentina has been under a very cold wave this weekend (including today, non-work day here) and Buenos Aires had the most WONDERFUL weather. Minimums in the 3 and 4 celsius and maximums aroung 10! Sunny, bright days, all of them. So im glad, this was probably our last cold wave, this winter has been colder than expected, and i really enjoyed this last really cold days.

Tomorrow will be back to the normal BA winter temp: high 50s, lows 60s.
