I know it's spring here now so naturally we get an high number of sunny and dry days but this is getting way beyond ridiculous. We need more rainy and cloudy days. Even on other Australian weather forums, people are complaining about how dry it is. Horrible sunny day indeed.

Wanted a laugh so I opened up my big old adult joke book only to find a load of spider's webs in it which went all over my hands causing me to throw the book on the floor. Not so funny.

That reminds me of your story about finding a bloated spider in your box of chocolates.

I have bad luck with arachnids here due to being on the ground floor I guess.

I hear possums at night, scuttling around! Some are quite loud and stomp forcibly across our roof.

Also a family of territorial crows have been squawking from 4am every morning the last week right outside our property!

Plus we have a few rogue bush turkeys charging through our back yard now and again. An early Xmas supper perhaps?

Additionally we get plenty of albino geckos chirping away throughout the night (and catching the odd stray bug that gets near our outside lights).

Last week a dead snake unfortunately met the tyre of some car and had made a permanent claim to the middle of the road.

Hardly weather related, but all of this does not bother me at all, but the fauna is quite different to Sydney.

I hear foxes and owls here on a morning - the foxes are very loud and 'yelp' for other foxes. No lizards here, or possums.

We have bats at night too, but they don't make noises. They just fly around in circles.

At least I'm able to to "move possums along" here, without repercussion.

On the west coast last week, Wekas were coming through the cat flap, and eating the cat food.
