I read that there are halfway houses in Delray beach. Is there a published list of addresses of places like that?

The thing about South Florida that's probably different than where you're from is that you can have really bad stuff next to some really nice stuff. For example, they will put million dollar home communities on zero lot lines next to railroad tracks. Million dollar homes next to projects. Some really bad areas will abut some very popular tourist destinations (e.g. downtown Delray, Cityplace). You really need to shop for real estate in person and see the neighborhood, both during the day as well as at night.

As far as treatment facilities, a recent story about one in Delray Beach.

Delray Beach officials will consider settling with nonprofit that sued alleging discrimination against people in recovery. - Sun Sentinel

I don't think you'll be looking for a house in this neighborhood, but it shows how things go down here. There are probably some treatment facilities in Palm Beach, it wouldn't surprise me. So unless you or someone you know is in need of a facility, I wouldn't worry about the location of these in your house hunt. It's going to be hard to find a good safe neighborhood in your price range.

If you're really concerned about these types of places, the following link provides some information on transitional living facilities:

Transitional Living Facility - Group Care Facilities

You could probably pull up a list of these places from:

You might also want to check the sexual predator database for any neighborhood your considering:
