I couldn't agree with you more WellHome. I don't trust that Oakmont Estates is "OK". Who knows what will develop 10, 20, 30 years from now.

Default Oakmont is beautiful

In all aspects, Oakmont estates is very beautiful. Very nice neighborhood. I've been living here since April 2009. All residents are happy so far. Centex/Pulte sold almost 100 homes after I bought. So that is a good sign especially in this recession period. I am pretty sure, they all did extensive research before buying. I trust this builders. If there were issues as people discussed here, I don't think they even build homes in this place; because this is United States. So there is nothing harmful to our kids. Safe to buy. I am not trying to convince anyone. Just the findings and facts. There will not be a college campus on the property next to it. PBSC bought land at Loxahatchee (Southern blvd and Binks forest) for the new campus. The builder Pulte started another neighborhood just opposite to it and it may available to purchase by January 2012. Few more lots available at Oakmont. Pretty good neighborhood for family. Wellington is still developing. Buying home in Wellington area will be a good investment. Prices will go up soon, as the weather in Northern states are getting more bad. Wellington now has pretty much all the facilities nearby - 'A' grade schools, reputable hospitals, beautiful mall (Apple store there ) , International airport, International equestrian club, golf clubs, drive through zoo (Lion country safari in Loxahatchee) and all the amenities for a good family. As most residents are rich, don't think the prices are too high. Pretty good Air quality 24.8 (better than national average). Overall, Florida is very very beautiful.

Just wittnessed and have photos of a hole dug in the ground and it filled up with water. They put a pump on it and pumped the water out for a few days. There is a metallic sheen on the dirt. It looks like somebody poured melted solder on the ground and mixed it with oil. It is enough to keep me from lying in the grass!!

Question Oakmont Estates 2012

Well it's 2012, and I don't seem to see anymore talk about the soil in
OE. We are thinking of going to see homes there, but after reading some of the forum not too sure. Would be great to get some updated opinions. I have seen pultes homes in Maryland and loved them. Sort of thinking yes, but then no.... Any help would be appreciated

Default Kpark

There is a proposal to put a horse park next to your development going before the council on Tues pm…thought you should know…should pose major drainage, nuisance smell, and traffic issues for your community.

WOuld be beneficial for some of your residents to voice opinion at the meeting that starts at 7pm.

Leave then, I would rather see horses and smell them then have more Section 8 housing and gang bangers hanging out at the park.

This is some years later after this post...looking to buy in Wellington and looking at OE, VW, Castellina...we liked some of the models in OE a lot, a couple we saw had hardwood floors, and we really liked that too. What is OE's reputation now? Have there been any further concerns with the soil? Have people put in pools without any major additional cost? Would love to hear from you if you're a resident living there now, or just what you hear, too. Also researching for how I may go about getting more of this kind of information (like the EPA, etc)
