The subject line speaks for itself.
I know that there has to be other couples without children in White Plains.
I just don't know how to meet them.

I would love to extend my network of friends.
But how do I start?

Are you childless by choice?
Can we hear more about that decision?

Yes, I've met people through a meetup book group and a hiking group. It can be hit or miss, but it's worth putting in some effort.

I am childess by choice.
It is hard to explain exactly why - except I just knew it wasn't the right choice for me and my partner felt the same way.
I have been a caregiver to my parents for a bit and I think that was part of the decision - that I had played the parent role for a bit already when I was younger. But really having a child did not quite seem to fit in what I saw in my life.

I definitely know that for many it is a very rewarding experience and very fulfilling.
But for me, it felt more stressful, and more going against what I felt I could handle and or do.

Thanks all for the feedback!

Honest suggestion here...get a dog! That is if you're a dog person, of course. Always a great conversation starter, gets you out of the house/apartment, and you'll at least meet other dog owners. And, while dog owners can obviously have children too, the ones who can afford to spend a lot of time walking their dogs are probably childless. :-)
