Not really. I find it's really childish and lame to compete with co-workers, even if subtle. It's not like you're going to win a 1st place trophy by name-dropping who you know. It's every man for themself, as far as I'm concerned. I could care less what the next person is doing; I'm focused on doing my job
Agree. I don't care what co-workers do, long as they aren't in my space. I don't trust them.
Sports is the only competition worth focusing on anyway.
I actively compete with my coworkers, with good reason. If they ever decide to let any of us go, it will be the person performing under par. If I'm the second most productive (I'll admit, someone else takes the top spot), then I'm not that guy.
You can be the best performer and hardest worker and unless you are favored by management you’re just going to be the one doing all the work while the other(s) take and get the credit.
