I'm asking based on pay increases, ceilings, and ease of getting promoted. So lets say you have a marketing or accounting positions straight out of college at 55k a year. 2 years later you get a promotion. Does it keep getting harder and harder to get those promotions and pay raises as you get older. Do people typically top out on pay around a certain number of years or age? Its pretty easy and normal to get promoted when you start a career, but does the promotion curve just start to flatten out eventually for most people?

It is usually based on politics and performance. It gets harder and harder as you go higher and higher (there will be greater competition at the higher levels). More politics at the higher levels.

Communication ability comes into play quite often. If you ever sent an email as grossly incoherent as your post, you'd be capped out pretty quickly.

And since when is $55K "entry level"?

Kids these days. Man.

Since always smartass. You could find the answer with a simple google search. Apparently entry level for you is quite a bit lower than for most. My post wasn't incoherent.

Rather be a smartass than a dumbass. The first line of the article you linked touts $45k as the average for 2013 grads.

Your post was littered with contextual, tense and grammatical errors. Good luck with all that.

Notice I specifically said "corporate World." A "smart" ass would know that jobs in corporate America normally require business degrees. An education major isn't going to work in a corporate office. Additionally, I also specifically mentioned careers in marketing and accounting. If you read the link, you would see that business grads start out at 55k on average. Surely you knew that accounting and marketing are business degrees. Perhaps your reading comprehension skills need some work? Class is over.

You sound like another spoiled millennial.

Someone who makes 50K+ has a handle of proper grammar and punctuation.

I'm typing on my ipad. BTW, what's a "handle", and how do you attach one to grammar and punctuation??
