is anyone working at a place where they use air purifiers in the office?
Since they remove viruses and bacterias do you think it would have any impact on sick leave from employees?
I had several of these units awhile back. They did help reduce pet dander and odor. Unless you work in a really nasty office, most people should be able to handle a regular office without getting themselves sick. It will freshen the air, but I wouldn't count on it to reduce sick time.
Also the air purifiers purify the air but most colds/flus are spread through droplets that settle on things like door knobs when someone sneeezes/coughs wipes their face. Air purifiers do nothing for that.
Topeka, Kansas does not have an ordinance against public nudity because Kansans do not wander around naked in public. Some years ago, a councilwoman proposed such an ordinance, but it died for lack of a second. If you do see a naked Kansan in Topeka, it is because they have OD'd, and need prompt medical attention.
As far as air purifiers, do people who work in clean rooms (HEPA filters, etc.) have fewer respiratory illnesses? I suspect you would have better luck by avoiding crowds, and being careful not to touch your face with unwashed hands.
Those of us who have worked in sewage plants for a long time seem to develop resistance to gastrointestinal illnesses. No such luck with respiratory illnesses, however. When I encounter someone with a respiratory illness, I want to whip out a sliver crucifix, or perhaps a can of Lysol (I have had a gram negative pneumonia twice in the last several years).

That´s a very interesting input. Anyone knows the share of cold/flus that are spread through droplets that settle and on the other hand through air?
Would be interesting if there is any medical/doctor here around? :-)
So know one uses thos purifiers at work so far? I know that there are some companies where they are used in warehouses but that´s because air quality is especially bad there. But I was thinking about normal office enviroments if it would bring any advantage for the employees there?

What prevents employees from being exposed outside of work?
Nothing of course, but since you spend 50% of your awake-time at office it would then reduce probability of catching something buy 50%... which wouldn´t be that bad, would it?
