To be out of work for a year is a long time and I hope that you will be able to find a job more akin to your liking but if SBs is the only thing thus far I would take it.

No, I don't think you're too old. In the local Starbucks here in Redding, there is a woman working there who is in her late 40's at least. I don't think she's a manager, though, I get the sense that one of the younger workers is the manager.

But, think about the Starbucks crowd. Very mixed age-wise. I didn't think it was weird at all that there was a mix of older and younger workers behind the counter. I'm pushing 60, BTW.

The only thing I can see is if it is mentally. It seems to be a bit of a difference than you previous job (though you haven't mentioned it yet.)

rather have an older person managing the youngsters than the other way around

if they actualy offer you a job take it

the employees of starbuckscseem to be happy, right? i guess they likre the work environment and the patrons

The starbucks I frequent has lots of young baristas. But the manager has to be in his mid 40's. Seems to do a good job too.
