Hello,

I found a job in the law enforcement field that has a closing date at the end of June. If I submit my application today, will it sit dormant until AFTER the job closing date? I wasn't sure if companies call/interview possible qualified candidates PRIOR to "until applications will be accepted through June 28th."

After the closing date, how long does it usually take for HR to contact the qualified candidates for an interview?

For positions that says "applications accepted until filled" does HR review those apps daily and contact qualified individuals for interviews?

I guess my question is, do I need to rush and get my transcripts over nighted for this position that closes on June 28th, as well as getting the application completed immediately? I am going to do the app this week, but I don't want to miss out the on the opportunity.

Thanks much!

Is it a civil service position? If so, nothing will be done until after the deadline passes, at which point everyone will be notified of the civil service test date.

Yes, that's the way it is here and at another public agency that I worked for. Both HR and the hiring manager can see the applications/resumes as they come in, but no decisions on which get interviewed is made until after the deadline has passed.
