Tomorrow I have an interview with a company that sounds like a great place to work and would be good development for my career, except for one thing: I would not be interested in buying their products. They sell clothing that I would never care to purchase for myself, because it's not my style.
I have also seen job opportunities with companies that sell things such as baby products, but chose not to apply to those jobs, because I am 31 years old and would never care to purchase baby products.
What about in your opinion? Would you work at a corporation (headquarters) that is in the business of selling products that you would never purchase for yourself?
Depends on the product. I've sold ski equipment and I don't like to ski. I do like the outdoors though. I don't like babies so I wouldn't give that a second glance.
In your case, you're not doing the selling so imt probably shouldn't matter as much.
Well, it's a company that sells clothing that targets the 20 to 30 age group. But now I'm 31.
Seriously nep?! You're an accountant. It doesn't matter. Leave it to you to obsess about a clothing line one year off from your age. Maybe it will help retain your youth!

Absolutely. I was the parts rep (salesman) for International diesel trucks for years. I'd never buy one of their trucks (this was back in the 6.0 debacle years) but I sold with the best of them. Doesn't matter if I like it or not as long as someone else does and I get paid.
Well, the only reason I'm asking is because I have been phone interviewing with a company that targets the 20-30 age group for clothing, but I'm 31 years old now. The company is located in Columbus, OH, which is a place that I am very interested in relocating to, but I was just wondering if this should be a deal breaker.

A company whose clothing targets people younger than you has MANY employees older than that demographic.
This should not even be an issue. Why are you making it one?
