Public sector workers in general are overpaid, including cops, firefighters, and teachers. A few years ago we had a scandal here in Washington state wherein some state troopers were caught submitting phony college diplomas in order to qualify for automatic raises for any trooper with a college degree. The average salary of the troopers caught was $68,000, and evidently none of them had legitimate college degrees since they had to submit phony degrees to get a raise.
CNA's - Certified nursing assistants. They often make a just a little over minimum wage yet are stuck caring for the elderly. They have to lift those people and also change the adult diapers and all that goes along with it. Not to mention also bathing and feeding them.
Social workers are also underpaid and they have mentally tough jobs.
Truckers don't make the kind of money you think. What with fuel costs and other assorted costs and breakdowns etc... My husband has been a truck driver for 15 years and never cleared over $46,000.
