One less person outside of myself to mess up my order when using a kiosk. I avoid ordering from people if at all possible.

Places like Sheetz and WaWa stores (think 7-11s on steroids) have had order pads for years. Customize your sandwich/breakfast muffin/whatever, get the order slip, pay and they call the number.

I was talking about Big Mack and Quarter Pounder. The other burgers at the other restaurants seem more filling and bigger to me than those sandwiches.

Even though I am a senior citizen now, I retain my 20-something appetite. Yum!

The issue of automation taking over human jobs is sadly ignored.

Not really, it's been an issue since the 1950s. Entire industries were transformed starting then.

Both of those also have different codes of ethics. The management of Nintendo are actually responsible for something.

I think you confuse the types of technologies that were in the past versus many of the new ones. They have different philosophies.

The paradigm shift in technology, and how it will affect your future

It's a continuum, not a paradigm shift.

Nope.

A continuum is based on the same set of values.

The values are changing from "make people more valuable" to "make people worthless and dehumanize them" - those are not on the same planet and mutually exclusive.

What are the fired employees going to do now? I know. Get jobs building the kiosks that replace them. No, those jobs are already filled. Anyway, I sure hope the folks who are so fond of ordering from a kiosk won't lose their jobs to automation in the future.
