A new Wendy's opened up with the kiosks installed. I've seen more people actually order from the cash registers than the kiosks. I use then unless I'm getting a frosty from m keychain, I'll use the kiosk because of the ability to see what is in a burger or not. This is the main reason I'm for kiosks as an option.
I want to save time. I can check myself out faster, get the order correct, unlike the staff.
Dick's Drive-In in Seattle has been kicking McDonald's b*tt for years. They know what people want: quality, value, consistency, and fast/accurate service.
Oh, and I have three college degrees in business and worked in the real world as a consultant. I've seen the real impact of short term thinking.
Completely OT, but why would you get three degrees in business? Were these from different B-schools?
You would have spent an enormous amount of money and time to get three degrees in the same discipline.

They might be a great fast food restaurant. No way is that a typical crowd. That would defy "fast service". Looks like a grand opening special. Probably giving away free burgers.

Getting the order right entails more than putting the order in correctly, that's the easy part because they should be reading your order back to you in which case you will know if it's right. The problem lies with the kitchen mixing up orders, forgetting parts of the order or simply not reading it right.

Nah, just a LOT of people in that town like dicks. Apparently from the picture, both men and women alike love dicks there.
I thought about McDonald's some more since my previous post. I would guarantee you that if they market tested a "Classic Menu" or "Retro Menu" or whatever they wanted to call it that offered items prepared the original way, it would be an immediate success and they would eventually do like Coca Cola did with "New Coke" and stop making items the new way. For example, go back to making fries the original way and offer them on the menu as "Classic Fries." See how long it is before they quit making fries the crappy current way.

Yep or sending the wrong orders out. I could still have errors of the ticket was read wrong kiosk or cashier.
