As for the job hunt - I mostly limited myself to Houston and then Chicago when I lived at these places. I'm not in a hurry to get a job yet when I focusing on several things like renewing my Visa, getting a Felony Pardon, and fixing up my IRA investments as well as learning how to invest, picking good stocks, and working out a lot to lose 10 lbs so my size 4 stuff don't feel tight.

I only made ONE punch to that man; if I punched him out I would have stayed around and thoroughly beat him up if that was my intention.

I am not speaking specifically to Jesse's case but in general.

I think most of us might do something stupid if provoked. Sorry, but being rational and human and 'thinking' don't always go together.
The problem is that Jesse refuses to acknowledge what he did was wrong. Go read. Every single time he side steps that crucial piece. It's always "somebody made me" or "I was paranoid" it's never "I did it and I'm sorry" except that he's sorry it screwed up his career. Not that he's sorry he hurt an old guy. If he'd just take responsibility like a man instead of acting like a child, I'd have a hell of a lot more respect for the guy.

I don't understand why we allow non-citizens here on a visa to stay if they've committed a felony. Unbelieveable.

I'm a US Citizen; I need to renew my Passport or is it a Visa / mom will tell me...

Yeah, I could've been deported if I wasn't a citizen... After living in Houston with it's EXTREME Discrimination of felons [can't get a good APT] I'm putting off a Nationwide jobhunt for awhile, as the jobs and opportunities in Chicago kinda stink now. Not all the best jobs and companies are in Chicago anyway.

But I'm living comfortably rent free + $806 monthly SSDI + $806 every 2 weeks on 2nd unemployment extension benefits.

My friend was at a restuarant, and a guy was trying to hit on his girlfriend, and they let him know she was taken so the guy starts taunting, being a real idiot, so they tried to do the civil thing and just leave after they paid the bill, and the guy follows them out, my friend punched him, knocked the dude out, then his friends tried to jump in, it was broke up, but my friend had to spend thousands to not be charged with felony.

The company I work for doesn't hire anyone straight in. They use a Temp Company I cant tell you how many times I have seen them come get a temp and escort them to the door, and tell them they are ineligible for hire due to failing the drug screen (we do the hair kind that goes back 6 months) or they have a violent or sexual crime on their record.

Would Mom be willing to have a chat with you to help you realize you need help? Or is she delusional as well?

This is sad. This country allows people to enter the country illegally and obtain service jobs at less than livable wages, while those who have served time are not allowed to return to their profession or find gainful employment. Moreover, the biggest criminals in Amerika seem to be connected to Pennsylvannia Ave and/or Wall Street. The masses have yet to ostracize said persons. And to think that less fortunate governments utilize inmate labor to supplement a mismanaged budget and infuriate the people that hire them. This is a contradiction as well. The inmate can work while incarcerated, but catches hell upon release. This is reason enough to overhaul the elected officials who overlook the problems the people must endure. The biggest problem I see is how can you classify a person before you hire, to reform the way things are, take away the athority to look up the dirt. Have a third unbiased party do you screening and classification for the job you need done. Thays to Bill Clinton, some states are allowed access to dirt beyond 7 years, I think his thought was that people can forgive and forget and act responsible. At this point I think we almost need the government to set the 7 year rule back into the fair credit reporting. The I.T. department head of Seattle even goes on record to say if you got a felony you need not apply, so unless he is forced to do it he will just ignore you, and guess what that is against the law. So tell me why things should remain the same? Also start tort reform, a post in here said he would sue the employer and the person? Just sue the person. Stop hurting business and people, grow up people are not perfect !

Criminals are not a protected class, therefore it's perfectly legal to not hire them based on their background.
