I know a childless middle aged couple in their 40s who now only work part time and 40 weeks a year. Due to a combination of unique skills, good money management, and low spending they do not need to work full time. They devote their time to intellectual pursuits, worldwide travel, many hobbies and fun.
Their friends think they are lazy. They feel that someone with their level of skills should be working at least 40 hours a week in a job that will use their skills to the fullest. They are viewed by family and friends as underachievers. While both work in their fields, Accounting and Teaching. Their choice of jobs is not as great because they only work part time.
What would you think if a family member or friend were to move to part time (by choice) and cut down on their standard of living as a result?
not lazy, they are smart!!
if someone is self-sufficient,,,,more power to them,,,working part time,,i wished i could
Politics and Religion, huh? Maybe I better stay out of there. I get into enough trouble as it is just going into the Texas forums! I better just dingle where I've already dingled!!!
Ellie, I completley agree with you. However, dont hold your breath for an opinion fron Dingler he just throws topics our there and doesnt put his two cents. I have asked him before on his opinion or question about his previous thread and ....no reply. Go figure.
Pixie I was thinking the same thing this morning, he starts these threads yet execpt for once or twice he never comes back on them .
Maybe this is what he does at work since noone talks to him.

p.s. we all better be careful in our posts or those that are called spammers or trolls may become "dinglers"

I do think that Dingler has a great talent for posing questions that many of us feel compelled to respond to. I can't even remember which thread this is, but he does it again and again.

Good for them! I agree...those giving the couple grief might be jealous.
