Norway and Sweden in terms of human development or well-being.
Oh pleeease give us a break with tose "marvelous" Arctic countries. Go live there if you wish.
A country of 5 million people sitting on an oil field (Norway) has a better human development index than the US. What a feat. I guess they would be penguins they still would have it better...

I know you have an extreme bias against countries with cold climates, as if that is relevant to this thread or anything I am talking about, so I'm safe to ignore all of your future posts until you actually give meaningful insight into a discussion or debate without sounding like a 5 year old with severely restricted vocabulary. I will be waiting.

The US is 3rd for HDI and 16th for IHDI. All it means is that wealthy and upper middle class Americans live in an extremely developed world, perhaps the best on the planet, but that the people in the lower half of the class spectrum don't have it so good. What else is new?
Quite frankly I'm still amazed how people brush off those rankings so easily, sometimes even implying some conspiracy theory to manipulate the rankings to keep country X at the top and country Y at the bottom. For some of you, you don't even need to look at what the ranking is trying to accomplish -- if the ranking fits your preconceived notion of where the US (or Canada or anywhere else) should be, then it's a good ranking, and if the US is too high or too low, then the ranking must be wrong. You could get to know so much more about the world if you only dug a bit deeper into the rankings to actually learn something about those countries.

Life expectancy for US females is 80.7 years ...for males 75.6 years
Healthcare,
I would give edge to Canada as everyone is covered and is not dependent on employement
More diversity,
Both are diverse, Canada more than most people realize, just visit Toronto or Vancouver to see what I mean.
Best highway system,
certainly better than Canada but Germany has pretty good autobahns.
Best universities, scientists, researchers....
Canada has a few pretty good universities too, like McGill.
Scientists....USA attracts the best from around the world, not necessarily their own but...
Best military in the world,
OK, no argument here, not sure what that has to do with HDI
