Also, for anyone who thinks the US isn't as advanced as S. Korea must be:

A) The typical jealous European
B) Someone in denial
C) Someone just can't get over the USA's position in the world.

Also, in regards to your lower class argument, I'd still take the US system over the failing socialist system in Europe. I'm not lower class and my wages are pretty much higher than nearly every German I've ran into and unless they're lying, they tell me that they are taxed around 40%. There's no way I could live under that type of government. Anyway, I hope all Europeans enjoy living under the NATO umbrella because if you ever bother to spend even 4% of GDP on military as the US, then it would be a whole another story, Europe already feels 20 yrs behind...Could you imagine?

Society divided by race- Again, quit failing for media bait. The average American isn't living a certain condition based off race, they are living a certain condition because they usually refuse to attempt to live better whether it's white, black, hispanic or whatever. However, what the Germans hide is the fact that they discriminate agaisnt the Turks at an alarming rate and Europe in general discriminates against the Africans and Arabs. I'm not so sure how that's any different than the "preceived" visions you have on America. Europe is also unaccepting when it comes to different cultures and assume everyone who lives there from another nation is there to live on their governments; Failing to realize that the trend is reversing from European countries invading other continents killing people or forcing themselves on people.
You're right, the USA is ranked third in most technological reports i've looked at, behind Singapore and Japan. Maybe i came off as a bit arrogant, genuinely didn't know about it. I had just claimed that the USA weren't as advanced technologically, that's what you were talking about.

I'm happy we don't waste 4% of our GDP on military expenses, most of the problem of the world have been created due to USA, France and Uk military intervention, the USa should really stop being the world police. Europe isn't a failing socialist system, looks like you watch too much Fox News, we could say that Eurpe is a mixture of the liberal and socialist economic system, skewing heavily towards the former. It isn't perfect, but it guarantees basic needs to everyone, 48 millions of Americans have no health insurance (http://http://kaiserhealthnews.org/n...rly-unchanged/), so health care isn't accesible to them. The truth is that if you add tuition fees which are exorbitantly high in U.S. colleges and the cost of health insurance (according to OECD, Americans spend 17,7% of their GDP per capita on health care, List of countries by total health expenditure (PPP) per capita - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), the average American family ends up paying as much as a German one for services that aren't much better.

But you'll never understand this, i know where you come from and what are your politicla leanings.

The 2011 American census is still base off race ffs and not by nationality like elsewhere, i'm not saying there aren't Europeans who are racist, but there are few problems with most immigrants, Subsaharian Africans are among the most integrated groups in Italy and are rarely discriminated, the main problem isn't with any culture but is with a religion, Islam, of course ca be part of a culture, the problem with it comes when it is being forced upon someone else with violence.

I wasn't too concerned about the technological rankings because it always shows the US as 1 or 2..or 3 in the report you looked at.

The 2011 American census is unofficial and it's an estimate.

Europe doesn't base things off race? Then how does Germany know that there are around 4 million Turkish in their country? LOL, this is quite comical.

I don't watch fox news..I'm a democrat..A democrat is different from a socialist and my reasoning for calling the socialist system a failure is because of the economic situation while they continue to pay workers while their on vacation 6-8 weeks a year. I'm just wondering where this money is coming from when virtually no country over there is growing economically.

The problem with the world isn't the US, UK and France. Could you imagine if the US, UK and France decided just to take care of their borders and just let Europe be? For example, the US spends around 600 billion on defense and Europe benefits from that whether you want to admit it or not. If the US decided to put that money into healthcare, education and other programs and forced other nations to come from under the NATO umbrella then we could really see which nations can continue to live a certain way. The UK and France spend much more on defense than Germany and those country have 20 million people less than Germany. If countries like Germany ever spent money on their defense, then the socialist system definitely would not work. There are already numerous reports about infrastructure problems and you don't have to look too far to see where the problem is.

As for healthcare, that seems to be the most controversal topic in America at this point and even with the Affordable Health Care plan, there's going to continue to be people uninsured. However, with the plan the insurance, you will not see 40% of any American's income taking away for things like Healthcare nor will a hospital turn anyone away.

Education, it's very expensive in the US, the US has some of the highest ranked colleges in the world as well. If I remember correctly, outside of the UK, there's no college in Europe ranked in the top 30. It was a college in Switzerland ranked 37 and as the saying goes...."You pay for what you get"

http://www.timeshighereducation.co.u.../world-ranking

Also, the wages are much higher in the US than the majority of Europe. When you factor in the taxes with low wages, then it's no wonder why Europeans usually drive small cars, live in small apartments, and live such a simple life compared to most Americans. Their money will not allow them too...

Finally, the difference between American and German services is the way we spend our money, if America didn't have the defense budget they have, then our services would be much better than they are now. The Germans don't have a defense budget so what's their problem?

For a country of 320 million people, I'd like to think that America is doing better than nearly every country with 50 million people or more. It's not that easy to manage so many people and while we're not perfect we do a good job I would say.

cdw1084 isn't amazing how much crap one get from europeans if one says they're not that great?

lol

you should see the kind of insults I am getting because I said cities in other places like Rio, Bangkok etc. are more fun than london, paris.... they are going nuts!!! it's like you burst their bubble and they throw themselves on the floor and start kicking like children!

you claim europe is not as technologically modern as Asia (to which I agree) and you have euros going off on this never-ending rant against you because you said they're not perfect!

it's like seeing those parochial Americans reacting when you tell them the US sucks in a lot of ways!
