Finding a restaurant at 1am isnt really too big lol chicago isnt a "24hr" city but after a night in the club there are plenty of packed restaurants lol..
Same here in LA, especially Thai Town and Koreatown.

I will clarify: When we left the restaurant (not bar) at around 3ish, it was still packed and I got the impression the entire area was like that 24/7. I have not found anything like that in L.A. My friends and I have stayed at some of the best restaurants in Vegas until they closed, which was not at 4:00 am.
Of course no one would ever know this given that people who have only visited have only been to Manhattan and people in NYC who like the idea of the city being "24 hours" wouldn't actually admit to it.
I've been all over the world to just about every major city. While in all of them there is something going on 24 hours a day, the majority of any city shuts down for about 6 hours. People like to do that thing called "sleeping".
i agree. "most" people really like sleeping

We can always count on those well travelled Chicagoans to remind us of that especiallay those who have never been to New York outside of Manhattan.
No, New York is truly a 24 hour city, it's not difficult to find food or an grocery store 24/7 and you will find plenty of people in the streets at any given time...
Yes, people sleep in New York too but since New York does not simply shut down like Chicago people work and sleep at different hours. That's why all the trains run 24/7/365...
Of all the places I've been, I would say New Orleans is the only other city that seems "awake" at all hours of the day/night.
