I always want to ask, "Show what?"
My Norwegian great-grandmother said Jay for Wy and Wy for Jay. So when she was going to make some yellow jello she would say, "jellow yello." I always wondered if she could make both sounds why she couldn't put them in their proper place?
She also said Vee for Dubble-yu. Vhy not?
Of course that wasn't a matter of ignorance but rather dialect.
Sounds like the German W, V pronunciation. FolksVagen. Ya?

Yew betcha. But I tink wit da Norvegian accent da Vee at da front sounds more like a cross between a Vee and a Dubble-yu. Sort of like, "Wokesvagen." Heehee.
