Thanks to you three who replied with advice from my last post. Wyoman, I took your advice and did some research on Northwest College up in Powell. Looked awesome! Also, I went through the Pics that everyone posted the other night and the Powell, Sheridan, Big Horn area has the atmosphereics that I'm looking for. How is the area? Even though I'm thirty and single, I'm just not real intrested in having a ton of things to do, school is going to keep me busy enough and then work on top of that should finish the suffication. Think there should be a good chance to find a job ranching up there? And if not, is there other work. Places to live? How are fuel prices up there and the cost of utilities? Thanks to you all and take care.

Prices for diesel & gasoline are about the national average - 3.89 at our cheapo (yet perfectly good) station. Diesel is a little over $4.00. Powell is a great little town - in 1995 was chosen as the All American Town. For a town with a small college, it is amazingly under control. It has NORMAL stores - things you need for everyday life, etc. Isn't far from the Absaroka mountains - a little further from the Big Horns, but not THAT far - 90 minutes maybe at most. Lots of great fishing lakes, plenty of hunting, and wide open spaces. Compared to Cody (where I live) it is a bit less expensive. Tho many ppl in Powell come to Cody to work & that is becoming EXTREMELY expensive. I know a lot of ppl who are changing their schedules as much as they can to carpool. The college is clean, nice & has a good rep. GREAT equestrian & ag program. And there are 4-yr degrees avail thru outreach UW programs. A lot of ppl choose Powell over Cody because of the less expensive housing, and they have been buildling like there is no tomorrow in Powell so finding something should not be an issue. Finding a house/apt in the summer would be the best time to find something. Have you been there? Go visit!!!
