Thank you Jeff W!!! I have been shouting this information from the rooftops, and CMC lovers don't seem to get it. All I can conclude is that they don't actually live in Fort Mill and/or don't actually have kids in our school system that would get $3 million per year of the property taxes that Piedmont will pay!! CMC already has two new huge facilities just across the border in NC and only 15 minutes away. Those of us that actually live here are very lucky to have so many great quality choices for healthcare right in our backyards - whether that is 15 minutes north (or west) to CMC or 15 minutes south the Piedmont. Why in the world would we give up $4 million a year in taxes just to have CMC that much closer - especially since you hopefully don't use a hospital that much to begin with!!

Dr. Art Edgerton recently retired, he was the first doctor to perform open heart surgery at PMC. He is an excellent heart surgeon and a big loss for PMC.
Last week the Mayor of Rock Hill had heart surgery ... not at PMC but at a Charlotte hospital.

When is DHEC going to announce their decision???
I guess when your life is on the line, you don't choose Piedmont.
DHEC is sure taking their sweet time at making a decision. Don't they know we still have another 18 months of lawsuits after they decide?

The mayor went to Charlotte, instead of the hospital in his own city? That is amazing. The important thing he is doing well. That shows the level of confidence he has in PMC.
Personally I dont care either way. Doctors/staff make the hospital, not the name of the company. They both claim they would offer the full suite of areas.
Doctors/staff do make the hospital BUT the best go where the money/technology is.
Well said and very true.
