I guess this is a rhetorical question, since rumor has it that 15,000 New Yorkers move to the Charlotte area each year, and 80% apparently come from up-state. Just want to make some contacts.

We will arrive in the Spring or the Summer at Belair (Indian Land area). Anyone else in that time frame?

We are coming from Jamestown, NY. Hopefully/probably arrive next summer after school lets out. We bought in Regent Park, Fort Mill. I love the area. Great equity and school system in Fort Mill. Alot of development going on in this area. Lived for 12 years in Cali and still wouldnt trade Fort Mill!

I lived in Buffalo for a while. When you arrive at Regent Park, you must try the new Carmella's pizza. They even have chicken finger subs but they call them "fried buffalo chicken subs." They are almost as good as the ones in wny.

We are coming also in the Summer. I know lots of people from Regent Park who I met while looking for houses. I too love that area and almost bought there. IL turned out to be better for us price-wise. They say that a lot of new shops and stores will be put up in and around Regent Park...and thanks for the Pizza tip! I was beginning to get worried I'd miss it!

So Fort Mill is better than Cali? How so?
Also, which builder did you go with in Regent?

Not from too Upstate (although people in the city consider it upstate) but I'm from the Hudson Valley...

Left NY a year ago, spent a year in Charlotte, and 4 weeks ago moved into a new home in York. LOVE it here, will go back to NY to visit, but this is now home!!

Be sure and hold your breath and look up while walking from you car to the door. They fail to clean up after their BIKE patron's trash the parking area with garbage and cigarette butts. The food is mediocre at best. The banners add a nice trashy flair to our area as well.

Moved from NJ about a year ago....I did live in NYS though...for about a year while attending WOLBI in Pottsville NY....about an hour from Quebec..

Anyway, I love it here!! dh and I purchased over in Belair (Pulte) in Indian Land...He did not have a job when we moved (I don't work) ....That said, he got one in the first 9 wks...made contacts prior to coming though....If you have a house to sell in NYS...are coming down with lots of equity, like we had..I am sure you will be fine while looking for employment.
