Description: The Mystic Theatre might be Wine Country’s coolest venue. Built in 1911 in the historic McNear Building, it’s a vaulted, double-decker palace that wouldn’t be out of place on the Sunset Strip. Much of the music is rock of all shades and tones, from the Dave Alvin Band to Tower of Power, Richard Thompson to Tommy Castro, Emmylou Harris to Todd Rundgren, the Marshall Tucker Band to the Johnny Winter Band. Van Morrison even recorded some tracks here for one of his live albums. Stand-up comedy passes through from time to time, featuring jokers like Will Durst. Tickets generally range from $15 to $30.
