Description: While Never Never Land caters to lesbians and gay men, straight folk will also find themselves welcomed at this intimate bar that has a pool table and hosts karaoke on Wed and Sat nights. The owners are so nice, women drive for miles just to experience the hospitality. While the exterior of the establishment might not impress you, walk in and be greeted with a smile, as if you have just found some long-lost buddies. Open Tues through Fri, 5 p.m. until 2 a.m., and opening at 6 p.m. on Sat. Closed on Sun and Mon, probably to get you missing these wonderful gals so you will come back again.

Description: The Robinson Film Center is a not-for-profit arts organization located downtown, dedicated to showing independent, international, and classical films while serving as a resource for film production and education and supporting the film industry. The Willis–Knighton Theater can seat 138 patrons in plush stadium seating while the Kennedy Theater can accommodate 48 persons. These theaters can also be rented for special events and screenings. While on-site, sample the wonderful delicacies located upstairs at Abby Singer’s Bistro. Hard to believe this gem of a complex is located in Shreveport–Bossier.

Description: This place can become crowded when either LSU or the Saints games are being broadcast, so come early to grab a seat. A very popular hangout for die-hard sports fanatics, especially the good folks across the Red River at Barksdale Air Force Base. Big televisions and a full bar, with both food and drink specials on game days. The quality of the food will surprise you, so bring your appetite. If you are watching the game by yourself, either drive to N’Cahoots or pick up the phone and call so you can hear a large group of people having a terrific time.
