The Grey Work Uniform, And A Tool Belt

I prefer the way things are now, which is; no one reading my blog, rather than the wrong people reading it. However, I did send a coworker a copy of my last blog entry that concerned rehiring an employee named Bernie. She then told me that another good blog...

At my place of employment I am a departmental head. It is one of the curses that can happen when a person bothers to get a higher education. I am in charge of about forty individuals. I have been in my current position for less than a year. I have little experience or knowledge when it comes to supervising employees. Most of my knowledge in that area comes from being an underling; i.e. being the supervised and not the supervisor. Consequently, I delegate to middle management in matters of supervision....

My Long-Term Plans; No Long-Term Plans

Posted 10-28-2012 at 07:26 PM by KatieGal

I procure and develop government property for use by the public. Considering my current employment, I am probably not going to be the person who will find the cure for cancer. And I doubt I will ever win a Nobel Peace Prize. Nevertheless, I enjoy the work I do. It can be challenging but at the same time liberating. I feel no deep desire to do more with my life professionally. When it comes to my vocation, I am not a dissatisfied woman.

As of this date, I have no great desire to...

Posted 10-21-2012 at 07:23 PM by KatieGal
Updated 10-21-2012 at 07:42 PM by KatieGal

At the time, I was at college in Ithaca, New York, far from my hometown of Phoenix. I was not only in school, but I was also working part time at a drycleaner a couple of evenings a week. Well, about 9 PM on October 21, 2006 I decided to call my mother and wish her a happy birthday from work....

Katie's Crushes

Posted 10-19-2012 at 05:26 PM by KatieGal

I am in a relationship with a guy, but that does not stop me from getting silly crushes on other men. I guess Mother Nature has made us this way, whether we act on these feelings or not. I know that I get romantic crushes all the time. Sometimes they are powerful; sometimes they are short-lived and faint. My first crush was when I was about 7 or 8 years old. His name was Jason Nelson. He wasn’t a good-looking kid, but he was about the best athlete in my grade. But the thing that got me was that...
