Update on life

I departed after being a regular poster at this site for years, because when discussing the very difficult and complex situation I was in, I had other posters imply that I deserved the abuse that my ex was dealing me.


No one deserves abuse.


And I did not want to continue to talk about life to people who were hostile and derogatory to me...be unsupportive, fine. Tell me I deserve abuse? I'm out.


I've moved on, and found a different place...

I have rich white girl problems. I have discretionary time, almost enough of it. I have discretionary income, almost enough of it. I have a car that is almost paid for and still looks and runs well, although it's also nearly eight years old. I have health insurance and life insurance, although I take these benefits for granted. I have a job at a good company and I like the people I work with, although I wish they were interested in the things I'm interested in, and didn't spend so much time dwelling...

Are you looking to remodel to improve your home’s value?


I recall as a young child growing up, that the rule of thumb was to remodel your home as soon as you move into it. Why? Well, first off you then have years living in a home that is designed exactly how you like it. But the reason given was “because it’ll take 7 years to get your investment back.” Meaning if it takes 20-30% of the value of your home to pay for the remodel, it’ll take that many years for the market...
