Joy Amidst Sorrow

Posted 03-13-2009 at 03:08 PM by ArmyPoohFan317

It sounds like a dichotomy, joy in the midst of sorrow, but it is true. There is always something to be joyful about. I'm learning that in my job, my counseling classes, conversations with others, Scripture reading, and just by observing life in general.

Yes, my family is dealing with grief right now, and that is never easy. I can quote the textbook definition for the stages of grief and what to expect when, and I can tell ya what I'd recommend to my clients. None of that knowledge...

A place to call home

Posted 03-13-2009 at 06:06 AM by Eric E (Charlotte Area New Home Communities)

Now is a great time if you are looking for new homes for sale in the Charlotte Area. For the first time in history, we have low interest rates and low prices. In the past, it was usually one or the other, but having them both low at the same time may be a once in a lifetime event.

Most people when they are searching for new homes for sale, typically look at existing or used homes, and forget that approximately 34% of all the home sales in Charlotte, NC are actually Brand New Homes....

My landlord forgives the rest of my rent!

Posted 03-12-2009 at 11:07 PM by carlos123 (My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego)

Just an update.

My landlord forgave the rest of the time I owed him to work off my rent today when I showed up to see what he wanted me to do next. I did not ask him for that and was prepared to work off the rest of the time I owed him but he said that the painting I had done was sufficient to cover this months rent!

I had only worked about 11 hours and had agreed to work 20 to knock off $10 for each hour of work toward the $200 rent I owed him.

Instead...

~Of Politics and Horses~

Posted 03-12-2009 at 10:53 AM by SarahSal (North & South of the Border)

Thanks to the moderator of my hometown forum for suggesting I do my own blog – after I entered a personal story not appropriate to our local forum – and then to my dismay had it removed!

I learned this week that oddly enough, crisis linked with sadness involuntarily breeds creativity.

After a year of intransigent writer’s block, I suddenly felt compelled to start writing again. Why? Mystifyingly it began when my 30-year-old horse passed away the day...
