Sorry I cannot multi quote like you, but in regard to my AK DL, are you accuse I am lying? Or breaking the law? I legally have the right to keep my DL for work purpose and nothing you can do about it.
WHAT??? I never said that you have received a PDF check. All I said is that to receive a PDF there is a requirement you must meet in relation to the amount of time you spend outside Alaska.

WHAT??? I have never said that you are lying about your DL. Of course I cannot do anything about your having an AK DL or not. Who do you think I am, the DL police?

I would suggest for you to do a little research about driver license requirements:

The meaning of resident: a person who lives somewhere permanently or on a long-term basis.
synonyms: inhabitant, local, citizen, native.

So, which is your State of residence? If you work in NY, AZ, AK, and so on, how do you handle State income taxes for NY, and AZ? Do you just don't pay those taxes? Just go to the AK F&G office to buy a fishing license, and tell them that you are a resident of NY, AZ, and Alaska. If should work quite well for you.
You really are barking up the wrong tree here. Have you ever heard of dual residents? You know those people who can live in different states and own properties in multi states. Yes I do know what a resident is thank you. I was a resident of AK for 15 years where my kids were born and raised and I frequently still work and habitat. Where I still have a home I lived in many years and can go to when I want. That is the lucky privilege I have for living in a country that allows me to live where I want and doesn't tell me to pick one place only

So, when you file your taxes do you enter more than one place of residence? If you have residences in more than one State, then you have to file separate tax form to cover each of the counties and State you have residences at. But that does not mean that you are a legal resident of more than one place. And yes, one can work at more than one State, but there is no a legal way to claim more than one place of residence when it comes to taxes, or to licenses of any kind.

You mentioned driving in Texas before, and yes you can use your AK DL to drive in Texas as long as you are a legal resident of Alaska (you reside in Alaska and are in Texas temporarily). But if you reside and work in Texas, by law you have a certain period of time to attain a Texas DL. Other than that can land you in State court.

Actually, that particular comment wasn't about the OP. It was about the troll Helga.

Just like you made assumption that OP was seeking a PFD when they were not.
Actually, lying about being a resident of Alaska in order to applying for jobs available to Alaska residents only while living in another state is scamming, and I'm pretty sure the state would agree with me And the proof is in her own words -- not officially moving until next year but wanting to get a P.O. box this spring because there are state jobs that are only open to those who live in Alaska.

Actually, there is a dual residency possibility, but it's pretty rare, and it isn't advantageous if one or both places collect a state income tax, which wouldn't apply to her. I imagine it won't look so attractive if Alaska implements a personal income tax. It's also is a bit more complex than simply deciding to claim residency wherever you want. As you stated, different states have different residency laws, and someone has to meet both to be legally considered a dual resident.

What do you guy's use for a address if the mail doesn't come to you? Lets say you live in a cabin in the woods.

Can you use your property ADL number?

I am asking about changing DL from another state to a AK drivers license or state ID, not about the fund. (I will never be eligible as I work on inland cargo freighters most of the time - rules say you can have exemptions if your on ocean or coastal ships, so I will never be eligible)

So if you live in the woods for a couple months a year when not working and your cabin is not in a borough or a unorganized one, that means you have no street address, utility bills, ect.

Then what?

Right now a good go too state for transient workers (US citizens) is SD. Unbelievably accommodating, and friendly for Merchant Mariners, RV'rs, You can prove you stay in SD with a hotel or campground receipt, SD allows PO boxes as mailing address. . I think its great if AK wants to protect its precious fund from outsiders with even more physical presence proof required, but too bad it overhangs onto "must be living in a area serviced by the USPO, then prove it with bills/receipts" for a AK Drivers License.

I understand and am all for protecting the fund, I wish it was protected separately from the issuing of State DL's or ID's though.

my 2 cents

If anyone nows the answer to the above riddle, please reply post back!
