Helga obviously doesn't know sh*t about Alaska and thinks her spouting off lies would go without being called out for it apparently.

Yeah and misguidedly thinks if she calls Met "rude" we'll stop calling her out on her bullsh*t. Not f***ing likely, lady.

Many if not all states have requirements for residency. Why? Taxes or state specific benefits. Some of Jose are tuition at universities and some are property or income taxes. One can start to establish residency in a state before you move. I've done that a few times. I registered to vote and established a PO Box before we moved to Alaska. I didn't know what the PFD was before we moved up here and there was no advantage of establishing residency two weeks before we moved. Our purpose for doing it was to mail food before we arrived.
I didn't get a driver's license for over a year. No one informed me that you can't get one in many villages.
The advantages of establishing residency early in Alaska would be something like the PFD as well as resident hunting and fishing. Your PFD residency is a January to January. So if the OP moves in March they wouldn't be eligible for a PFD until the 2018 year PFD which might be given in 2019.

Alaska requires 2 years residency for university tuition. That surprised me when I applied after our first year. Each post office is different. When we lived in a small village the post master let us establish a PO box before we moved, but when we moved to Dillingham we had to show proof of a physical address.

I just went and read her posts in a few other locations. I noticed there were random mentions of hot topics. Troll. Not even a good one. I'd rather discuss Alaska with 57below than her.
