Kickoff is tomorrow (Sat 10/9) at 6pm to see who gets to have their first win, UNM or NMSU.

Is it too early to promote an assistant coach and just get a big rubber room to toss the head coach in?

Hell yeah. And this year's men's Lobo cross country team is ranked top 10 in the NCAA, with the women's team 8th overall. And the track program is now one of the absolute best in the nation. But I don't think I've ever seen the press or anyone else take notice of any of these accomplishments. Weird.

Why's that weird? No one pays attention to who has the best bowling or badminton teams either. They're not popular spectator sports.

Then why do we even have them, much less give scholarships for them? If Universities are meant to be a farm system for the NFL and NBA, then let them focus on their mission as such.

To compare bowling and badminton is a little silly I think, one is a sport that was probably the first form of competition ever...the other two are badminton and bowling. Badminton is not even a NCAA sport, because get this, it is not a sport...

The point is, they're sports no one really cares about (besides friends and family). The only time they get any coverage is the championships. Even then, their ratings are very low. The media isn't going to heavily cover a sport people don't care to watch.
