I doubt it will pass this time around. Arizona is typically a pretty conservative bunch but eventually it will.
People smoking pot is not going to stop so we might as well tax the stuff and take advantage of it like they do with alcohol and tobacco.
I don't smoke pot but I think that if booze is legal, then pot should be as well.

Just goes to show that finding the lord doesn't make some people any more peaceful or forgiving.

Yes! I love it when arrogant, self righteous politicians get slapped in the face. If only more crooked politicians on the federal level could suffer the same fate!

Well, I don't really think it has a whole lot to do with being conservative as much as a generational difference. Granted, there are those who are pro and con in all age groups, but the staunchest advocates against legalizing it seem to be the senior citizens. Arizona has a high number of senior voters, so this is one reason I'm guessing it may not pass this time around. I definitely agree with you that keeping it illegal isn't going to stop people from obtaining access. The way I see it: voting NO on legalization is the same thing as favoring people using marijuana illegally.

(not meant as a political response or a bash)
I think it will pass this time around for one simple reason. I think trump has insulted enough voters in one way or another that are probably pro-pot, that they are going to be coming out just to vote against trump. As long as they are out and the favorability in support has been increasing in general over-all. I think if it were almost any other candidate voter turn-out would be down, but I think voter turn-out (all over the country) will be as high as ever.

Alcohol kills 2.5 million a year. Cigarettes kill 4 million people a year. Yet weed is what is illegal. I don't smoke marijuana and don't like it personally, but it being illegal is an absolute joke.
