I heard a theory today that cases in NWA are probably under-reported. With companies like Walmart bringing folks in from all over, theoretically, there should have been more cases and cases reported before this week. They just haven't been testing for it.

I have seen where Arkansas has a lot of folks with serious health problems. That will be a problem. I like to also think that a lot of Arkansans can take care of themselves pretty well too. I knew a lot of people growing up who were pretty self sufficient. A lot of them will be able to keep their contact with others minimal compared to us who live in more urban areas.

Well, you do have a point. I don't know about the "Walmart bringing folks in from all over" part, but we are behind the curve on testing. Everyone is, everywhere in the world. (Except China, where they are just declaring that there are no new cases, and refusing to test, but more on that, later.)

The whole U.S. is about to run into the wall on testing.

If you run out of reagents, you can't test.

You are right, to a degree. There are a lot of us who fall into that category, but it isn't the majority, any more. The slightly liberal, urban, social animal population has reached almost 50% of the population. In addition, there are a lot of older folks here, since the state has become sought after by retiring workers.

There has been no available testing in the Chicago area or anywhere in Illinois for that matter. The only way you get tested is if you are admitted into the hosp with serious symptoms. Illinois locks down today. This virus is spreading so I suggest everyone take it seriously. Read the news for Italy and Spain if you want a dose of reality.

There are also some good books on the Spanish Influenza of 1918. If I recall correctly, the Spanish Influenza began in the Fall of 1917. At that time it was not deadly. It is beleived to have jumped species at some point during WW1 in the Spring of 1918 and became a scourge that killed somewhere between 20 and 100 million worldwide. All the people movement associated with the war is credited with the spread of the 1918 influenza.

We are hunkering down at this point. Fortunately my fear was replaced by Christ a long time ago.

I beleive this will seriously change our relationship with China. I hope Walmart is considering how their business model will survive.

You are free to say and think what you want: That is why we are so lucky to live in America, but when someone makes a statement that make no sense most expect an explanation. You don't seem to have a reason for your strange statement.

Look at the picture in Zen's profile and you will get a better understanding of what he represents. Oh, did I say that?
