However, I'm still shocked that South Asian women tend to shy away from African-American/black males. Anyway, to each his own.
I'll return and read the rest of the replies in this thread, but I'm actually in Sri Lanka at the moment and in some ways it's still a very traditional/conservative, VERY family orientated society (moreso than even SE Asia, let alone East Asia). I can't imagine most Sri Lankan women marrying, heck even seriously dating, foreign men. Of course there'll be the exceptions, but for the most part, keeping the traditions alive is very important.

Some preliminary comments. Regarding Thai and Filipinas, the military men and of course those farangs who get themselves wives kind of skew perceptions. I actually think all those men have sort of made white men seem like less of a prize, although a young handsome white guy is the exception. Those guys generally just go to Thailand to bang a few girls, not like having a 'girlfriend' like the older or uglier ones.

Dark skin is definitely looked down upon in basically all of Asia. Karachi to Kawasaki, black guys are at a disadvantage for MOST of the female population. There are some who date black guys for the novelty factor, but people in general can be closed-minded and these things often DO matter. In many ways Asia is more race-conscious than the West.

according to asian-nation survey

filipino-american women dated/married black 2.6%....that number would be even less in the Philippines
the only number that is striking is filipina-americans dated/married white men 27%
this was taken from a sample count of 608 people

Women
Filipino 61.6
Other Asian 2.6
White 27.0
Black 2.6
Hispanic/Latino 3.7
Multiracial & All Others 2.6
Population Size (x1000) 608.7
Demographics also plays a part, it's not just preference. Perhaps places with a lot of Filipinas, or specific neighbourhoods, just don't have a lot of black people to begin with?

No, they weren't escorts. If you have charm and social skills then it is not necessary - that may not
be the case for you and your friends so I suggest you brush up on your social skills and you may
get laid without forking out your social security money.

I guess charm in your friends case is how much cash he hands out to his honey

young model like women from china don't go out with middle aged black men unless money was involved...

Agreed about Sri Lanka. I was there about a year ago, and seeing a white guy or non-South Asian guy with a Sri Lankan girl, is just something you won't see there.

Extremely traditional/conservative.

I do agree that many people there look like that.

I guess I never thought that that particular look is a 'mixed negrita' look. It just seemed 'filipino' to me. But, I guess they'd be one in the same. I've just never heard any Filipina refer to themselves in any other way besides 'Filipina' or by their language family group - Ilongo, Ilocano, Waray, etc.

No, you can't get laid and that's fine, no need to project your lack of success onto others.

You get your information on China from ChinaSmack. What you know about China you could
write on the back of a stamp.

filipino is not the same as mixed negrita look

filipino is a conglomerate of ethnic and racial groups who fall under the umbrella term filipino

mixed negrito look is tagalog or Manila look...totally different from what would be considered the malay look
the malay look is a much more common look

this look is much more common in the Philippines as a whole (the visayan look)

compared to Manila look which while commonplace in Manila...is almost non-existant in most places outside of southern luzon

its apples to oranges.....
dont be fooled by Manila....the phenotypes there are what is common amongst southern luzon people...and not indicitive of the entire country....its like saying all of indonesia looks like east timorese or papuan...only people from that region look like that
