I am very very much afraid that if the GOP wins this election Sarah Palen will try to inflict her Assembly of God thinking on the rest of the country. I think she's very dangerous and I wondered if anyone else feels that way too. We surely do not share her religious beliefs and I wonder if she will try to cause problems for those of us who do not, like she tried to do with the librarian who would not remove some books.
Do you share Obama's religious beliefs? His religious background and affiliations, I believe, would be thought as a danger to an athiest as well. We are fortunate to live in a country where we can all EXPRESS and PRACTICE our religious beliefs, as you, Sarah Palin, and Barack Obama have. Saying that one is "dangerous" over another is discriminatory. If there were a Muslim candidate, could anyone say the same thing without being charged with bigotry? Try to look at the big picture here and see things from the other side as well. Either way you look at it, anyone is entitled to their religious beliefs; me, you, or any person in our government. We will never all see things the same and cannot ever expect that our leaders will share all of our beliefs.
Side note just for my curiosity, why do you feel threated or in "danger"? I guess I don't really understand what you mean by that.
Not every woman wants to be 'stuck in the kitchen'. I don't plan on having a traditional family (I don't want children) and I cook for my boyfriend nearly every day. The days I don't cook, he does. It's fairly split between us. I don't believe EVERY woman's rightful place is in the kitchen and it's ridiculously silly to think that way.
And yes, a bitchy attitude gets women far, just look at Sara Palin.
Why does every woman who doesn't want kids or doesn't like to cook make it seem like it's something shameful? I think it's great that you realize that's not what you want and don't have kids just to fit in with a particular "group". That's no reason to have kids and I don't think there's a person in the world who would fault you for that, but there's no need to get so defensive. Truth is, there are some of us who DO want that, and we're treated like we're horrible lowlife disgraces to women for wanting a family or finding satisfaction in nurturing and caring for our families, especially if we do that full time. What difference does it make?? Why is that so horrible? I'm a working (in the employed sense) mom, and I am a very intellegent person, but I can tell you that being a mom is the single most challenging job I have ever or will ever have, but I find it the most rewarding too.

Discrimination is not a bad thing.
You and I do it dozens of times a day.
I choose a god german cheese over american processed cheese food. I discriminate based on my taste.
When someone in power changes the laws of the land to reflect their religious beliefs, that is dangerous.
I believe that caribou-barbie would do just that.

Sounds like you're projecting.
I didn't read that out of JetJockey's post at all.
There are many people who fault us for not having kids.
Good for you and your feelings about parenthood.
Are you assuming that those of us don't want children reject the choice you made for yourself?
I don't care what you do; just don't push it on me.
Keep your laws off of my body.

I'll answer that last question. I would be terrified of anyone who believes in witches, a 6000 year old earth, and the so called rapture given the codes to nuclear arms. Anyone who is so ignorant that they use a book written in the dark ages as a guide, and like all fundies dismisses science as lies is a danger. We do not need close minded people in positions of power.
