The light show is going to be beautiful. The same people installing it also installed the light show on the Eiffel Tower.

People will complain about anything. Someone could build a 400k sq ft museum here and someone would complain that it shod have been 401k sq ft

I think its exciting. I believe it will be embraced as has the London Eye, which has become quite popular.

Looks like Atlanta is not the only city with giant Ferris wheel in the South. There is one in Pigeon Forge in Tennessee, that just opened. The Ferris wheel is about the same size as Atlanta's.

will you even be able to see it? i don't even think you can see it from the downtown connector because it's on the west side of downtown.

I wouldn't call Pigeon Forge a city as such

I think it might actually be pretty obvious from the straight stretch through Midtown.

There is also one being built on the shore of Staten Island, NYC for tourists to have a great view of the harbor and NYC. I still think our ferris wheel is a great thing for downtown, and just adds one more thing for tourists to do in that area, but I don't think it is unique anymore. It seems like a trend right now to build ferris wheels in cities.
