Yeah, nothing to do in those cities at all.

Wait, are you serious? No, really, are you serious?

Why would anyone visit Atlanta?

I can't believe someone really asked this. SF and Chicago are full of culture and history. SF is lauded for it's beautiful scenery, the best in the country...great rowhouses, great museums, liberal culture, and Wine Country in the suburbs. It's an extremely compact and walkable city.

Atlanta wishes it can have this type of scenery.

What's fun about that? SF just doesn't appeal to me. Why go to SF when there's much more fun international cities just like it. I've always thought of SF as a sleepy city. People visit Atlanta mostly for business, but stay because its unique. If you want to see density, go to China. Not hating on SF, I'd love to live there, just don't see a reason to visit.

I'd take San Francisco over Clayton County, that much is certain.

How is Atlanta unique when comparing it to a city like San Francisco?

SF is very unique...you will not find another city like it in the country, maybe even the world.

Atlanta is unique? In what way? I don't see it. It looks like a larger Charlotte and sprawls like Houston and Dallas. It's just another American city that lacks the walkability that a tourist needs to be able to get around.

SF is a great American city that people all over the world wish to see and live in. Atlanta is not. Atlanta doesn't have a signature landmark like the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, The historic trolley system, or the Fullhouse homes or a signature neighborhood like The Castro. It doesn't have beautiful hills and mountains surrounding the city. Piedmont Park is a great park, but it still does not measure up to Golden Gate Park which is IMO better than Central Park in NYC.

Just saying...don't question SF's tourism appeal, then try to make Atlanta seem like it's a better city...it's not and 9 out of 10 people would choose SF over Atlanta anyday.

Who cares which city is more unique?...This is very petty.

Atlanta claims the title as busiest airport in the world and I'm pretty sure most of those travelers are "connector" travelers. That still doesn't change the fact that's it's the busiest.

The same goes with the visitors and conventions....get over it....

Oh and it doesn't have that overwhelming ghetto culture you find in Atlanta. It's downtown is actually great, unlike Atlanta where it become awful south of Marietta St and for the most part dead after 7 pm.

I assumed that poster was joking, but apparently not San Francisco is a special place - too bad it's so darn expensive. Boston and Chicago are also two excellent cities to visit. I could easily live in any of those three, too.
