Involving Atlanta, there will always be a BS provision of the Georgia annexation code that was written specifically to block it. Technically, the warped way the annexation law is written Atlanta (like any municipality) can annex through a governmental owned property to include new areas. Duplicitous situations like Douglasville have annexed properties that are not contiguous to the main area via the Sweetwater State Park to obtain the former New Manchester area near and along the Chattahoochee River.

I think they can wait less than the 1 minute for LRT to clear the intersection.

I would vote in favor of Atlanta annexing the 30339 zip code, in Cobb County. Not that such a move would likely ever happen.

Even though it would make my property taxes go up and our local sales tax would go up, it would finally allow MARTA rail to Cumberland (since Atlanta is its own member/jurisdiction of MARTA), and would bring the Braves back to Atlanta.

(A small portion of the zip is in incorporated Sandy Springs. The rest is unincorporated.)

When is the city council meeting?

And if there's a report why can't we see and study it in advance?

Get to looking on the Atlanta City Council website or call the Municipal Clerk's office. They'll know when a hearing is scheduled

The city council agendas are posted online, do some research.

Also, from the link provided earlier (http://www.atlantaga.gov/modules/sho...cumentid=23223) it appears each annexation does have studies, but you'd have to research that on City of Atlanta website as well City of Atlanta, GA : Annexation Information

You can put it all together for yourself and determine that because there has not been a revenue negative property annexed into Atlanta tax digest in nearly 40 years...

Furthermore, you need to be asking these same questions then other jurisdictions do annexations because that is the impartial thing to do...
It's perfectly appropriate to inquire about the financial impact of proposed annexations. Don't you think it behooves our government to investigate that before strapping on new obligations?

If comes up in other jurisdictions where I'm a taxpayer I'll ask the same question.

Oh, come on, cq, you know there's no analysis of the financial impact of the Emory annexation at any of those links.

What??? How would it delay cars any more than a normal traffic light cycle does?
