The city did sign them into a 50 year lease with a $200M penalty if they leave early.

I love the fact that Hartsfield is a cash cow and can fund projects like this one. The city will also receive more money from the airport once rideshare becomes legal and they collect a fee for each trip. The Hawks are looking great so far this year.

Isn't it "only" 30 years, thru 2046?

Not pathetic its from revenue generated by the airport which is city owed and legal. Atlanta has to look for Atlanta since Georgia is Anti- Atlanta.

It is true. I am at least glad it is not getting directly funded from my wallet / general fund / property taxes like other subsidies. Still, these need to stop.

Did you go to any of the public hearings, jsvh?

I don't think there were any. Not that it would make much of a difference. Public hearings don't make these sort of handouts OK.

I thought revenue from Hartsfield was restricted to only be used for the airport grounds itself.

I wish there was a way we could make them stop.

Corporate welfare, bread and circuses.
