nobody i've talked to who works for either of them likes it. just a **** deal all around, and charlotte gets the last of our legacy banks - apparently both IT departments are way behind the times as well. my spouse and i are probably going to move our accounts to someone else.

Just switched from BB&T to Wells. Gosh, the technology upgrades are just so much better. I had BofA before BB&T and liked them.

BB&T tech and digital platforms suck. I never had suntrust but they give a 90’s/2000’s legacy vibe like BB&T and not being a “tech” company and “hip” like some of the other majors. I don’t need the latest and greatest gadgets. These are actual tools that ar convenient and the ease of banking. Having simple buttons that can do anything I want from applying to loans, transferring money, depositing checks. It’s not the novelty of the others being so advanced in tech - it just makes banking simpler.

Good riddance BB&T. Hope Truist can get good tech platforms. And I hope the new banks are circa 2002 drab legacy looking garbage cans.

Default SunTrust Park name will stay on the Braves baseball stadium -- at least until early next year

Quote:
The SunTrust name will remain on the gates to the home field of the Atlanta Braves at least until early next year.

Although the merger of SunTrust and BB&T was finalized Monday, creating Truist, the nation’s sixth-largest bank, it will take up to two years for the now-obsolete brand names to be replaced, officials of the new entity said.

Yes... "Truist" seems like an odd name for anything, especially a mega bank.

And the really interesting thing is that BB&T is an organization that loves to put their name wherever they think the public will be able to see it (seemingly anywhere and everywhere, but especially on stadiums and arenas)… So I guess that we will be seeing the "Truist" name everywhere, even with as strange of a name and word as it sounds.

It just really makes one wonder what the thought process of the BB&T and SunTrust executives was when they were coming up with this new name for the combined bank.

If I remember correctly, the new name (Truist) was determined based on feedback from a focus group.

The more I say it, the dumber it sounds.

Maybe that’s the point. You’re saying Truist more and more and thinking about it more and more. It’s becoming etched in our brains. It’s so stupid it’s brilliant.

Glad I got out when I did. SunTrust actually had the most genuine people of all of the companies I worked for, but this abomination really impacted some good people.
