He's obviously not familiar with the Supreme Court case Jacobsen vs. Massachusetts (1905), which granted states the right to impose regulations as the safety of the general public demands.

Furthermore, he already shot his so-called defense ehen he issued the Stay-At-Home order back in April.

Yet, here we are with him wasting my hard-earned taxpayer dollars (*AGAIN*) on frivllous lawsuits...

And lol at someone with a degree in agriculture thinking they can go up against a lawyer in court and not look like a fool.

The state's legal counsel would argue in court, not Kemp himself.

LOL at any person who is a city of Atlanta resident talking about wasting tax payer dollars. That same 'lawyer' you are talking about was so dumb she exposed people to Covid at a press conference. We aren't dealing with intellectual giants here and that is a shame. Atlantan's and Georgians both deserve better.

But the counsel is acting on behalf of their client (Kemp).

This is one time why it helps to elect officials who actually know how the law and government works (such as KLB).

The same KLB who fired police officers without any investigation and didn't follow termination protocol and is likely going to cost the city millions in total when 6 or 7 officers bring wrongful termination suits against the city? But she is a lawyer!!!!!!

I'm a firm believer in subsidiarity - I generally don't believe it's appropriate for a state govt to strong arm a local government like this, but your view is skewed here.

It's not the job of government to protect people. It's their job to protect individual liberties.

Probably not their role to protect people from themselves.

What kind of sacrifice is it really to wear a mask of some sort in public?

Too many whackos out there on both sides of the issue.
Which is why many of us feel there should be a widespread mandate, preferably nationwide, but at least statewide. It's unfortunate that you basically have to force people to do right by others.
