As a black male, not this thread or topic again. The heck with a Black Mecca cities, if we cannot be a good Father to our kids, promote good safe neighborhoods, pull up our pants, learn proper English, and stop having all these kids all over the place. No it is no everyone, but it is far to many. Most Black communities in America are in a State of Crisis.

You're obviously living in a bubble if you're not aware of the fact that majority Black affluent neighborhoods can and often do stay both majority Black and affluent; there are many examples of such across the country.

I guess now I see why some folks have the perspective that they do regarding Dallas. Interesting.

No such thing as a Black Mecca in the United States...it's all smoke and mirrors. True power is in equity, those who own the bank and/or the land (I'm not talking residential homes). Although on the surface Atlanta gives the illusion of a black mecca, who still holds the titles here.

Exactly if you don't own land or have significant liquidity you are a Mecca of nothingness. Heck does Atlanta even have one black billionaire? We need to measure which city have the most stable black families and generational legacy.

I haven't read the whole conversation, but I don't know what the heck you are talking about. Atlanta is still the black mecca. Just because many black people in metro Atlanta are wealthy, living in more integrated suburban communities that were once white-dominated but are now 50/50 in many cases, doesn't mean it isn't still a black mecca.

I think the main difference between now and 20 years ago is that instead of there being black areas and white areas, a good 1/4 of the metro area (if not more) is very integrated. That goes for areas inside of the City of Atlanta and outside the City of Atlanta. Wealthy black people have been moving to the burbs, and many white people have been staying in the C.O.A after college. Especially the W, E, NW, and NE directions are very integrated, and a few areas in the S. Metro too such as Clayton County and Fairburn.
