Based on census.gov, Atlanta might end up surpassing black growth from last decade. Houston, the next after Atlanta is nearly 27k less than Atlanta's black growth and that's during Houston's golden age and during Atlanta's weaker period of growth. Just sayin.
It's best to look at trends over a longer period of time and not just for one year. What do those numbers look like for, say, 2010-2014 compared to the previous decade?

Still higher than any city. Like I said, the next city after Atlanta is Houston and that was when Houston's economy was still expanding substantially while during the same time Atlanta was still recovering. Houston's economy is subpar now which will slow the amount of blacks actually moving there while Atlanta's full recover and expansion will increase the amount of the blacks moving here. It's not close really.

The last real Black Mecca was in Greenwood (Tulsa) Oklahoma back in the early 1900s, until the Tulsa race riots on June 1, 1921. San Francisco Bay View » What happened to Black Wall Street on June 1, 1921?

I said that Atlanta is still the leader in terms of attracting the most Black domestic migrants and that probably isn't changing anytime soon. But it's not like the 90's when Atlanta was THE city for Blacks to move to. Collectively, several other cities have increased their share of Black domestic migrants so any type of CNN special about all Black people moving to Atlanta would be pretty outdated. As a matter of fact, when I saw that meme on FB, several friends of mine in other cities like DC, Houston, Dallas, etc. were like, "Is this a joke?"

I've also been hearing the brothas and sistas doing quite well in Austin, TX too.

Sidenote: I just don't get this social-media meme stuff myself.

Maybe independent thought is either simply too hard to do...or people are not really trained/taught/educated to do so anymore.

Who cares when the quality of some new residents are deplorable. How sad to be seduced by reality tv, music, or a fake Atlanta glamour that is not real for everyone. I see some move here and struggle. False allusion produces fake realities , and being educated without competence ability to use your degree cause people to pretend and be arrogant.

It will never be for everyone anywhere ever. Most people never get to live a glamorous life or even a comfortable life...it's mostly living from paycheck to paycheck or depending on government programs for a big chunk of Americans - not just Atlantans.
