Remember folks, all Xfinity and Sprint Cup on track activity this week is on NBCSN, with the exception the Cup race which is on NBC. And it is on Sunday night instead of the usual Saturday night.

There is certainly going to be a vacuum created after Jeff Gordon retires. Jeff's fans are looking to latch onto a new driver. Most will probably stay in the Hendrick camp, but a few may swing over to the likes of the Busch brothers if they keep racing hard while also having a decent personality.

If I was looking for a new driver to cheer for in 2016, Chase Elliott would be an easy choice. I have to think if he starts winning quickly, he could surpass Jr as Fan Favorite.. maybe not so quickly but once Jr is gone, Chase should be the odds on favorite for that title.

I guess that's what many NASCAR fans do. Before picking somebody to root for wait until they start racking up wins and then jump on the winners bandwagon.

I don't beilieve that is the case with Jr fans. They were Sr fans first then joind the Jr brigade in memory of Sr.

I am going to stick with my way of picking a driver, go with the underdog and that will be Ryan Blaney for me. I was a Bill Elliott fan when he first hit the scene and had many good memories of cheering for him.

Interesting to see Gordon is taking Larry Macs place on Fox. Figured Gordon would go for TV but didn't really see the Fox deal. Should be good/interesting.

Was hoping they'd use Gordon's ascension to the broadcast booth as a means of getting rid of Michael Waltrip. Broadcasting may be the one thing he's worse at than driving a race car. Sounds like he's got a mouthful of marbles when he talks and he makes stupid jokes all the time. He's also a Class A phony. I know people who've interacted with him. When the cameras are on he's Mr. Yuk Yuk but the second they're off he does a 180 into an arrogant SOB.

i agree, if chase starts off successful, and he doesnt even have to win any races, just run competitively, he will pick up a lot of fans fairly quickly. i am already a fan of his.

Me too!

I jumped on Jr's bandwagon after his first win in Busch.. never really was a DE Sr. (#3) fan.

With roots in NASCAR, Chase is an easy choice to root for especially once Jr hangs 'em up. It doesn't hurt that he drives for Jr now and will be a teammate next year!

I was hoping that would happen. Mikey is beyond annoying in pre-race. He's acting so hyper for the camera now that it's ridiculous. I liked him years ago on Inside Cup with Schrader, Jenson, and Bestwick. He wasn't so over-the-top and actually funny. Now, meh. Bozo the clown let loose in the pits.

I was always a Dave Blaney fan going back to his sprint car days, so I am excited to wartch Ryan's progress. I also will pull for Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott. To be honest, aside from Gordon, there aren't many of the current drivers I get excited about. But I think the future looks a little brighter.
