Best was a 2001 Camry. Couldn't have asked for a better car.

Worst: 88 Dodge Caravan V6. That thing had so many engine problems, even at only 88,000 miles. Suspension and brakes issues as well, and the body structure was crappy.

Best: 94 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham has been hands down the most reliable car ever. The LT1 engine and tranny are original at 176,942 miles and everything else inside still works!. It leaks oil, and does need new seals, the fuel pump died too, but other than that, nothing major has failed.

The worst car I've ever owned has got to be that cursed 1995 Volvo 850 turbo station wagon.

The thing ran great, had a turbo 5 speed and was a very cool piece of engineering. Until I had to actually WORK ON IT!

I did a routine oil change, and it wouldn't start after that. I'd put 40wt oil in, and it required 5wt. The 40wt was too thick to pump into the hydraulic lifters while cranking the starter, so it wouldn't go till I put the light stuff in.

Then I had to pull the timing belt off to change the water pump and had problems with the belt tensioner and got the two overhead cams out of sync.

Long story short is that I parted it out for what I had in it, and stick with simpler cars now.

Best 1989 Honda CRX HF. Bought it for $4,000 with 80,000 miles in 1995. It was totaled in an accident in 2006. I got a $2,300 cash settlement for the accident, and bought it back from the insurance company for $430 and continued to drive it as is. I parked it PNO in 2010. Sold it this year for $600 with 244,000 miles on it. I believe the new owner is going to rebuild it, and drive it as a commuter car.

Worst 1995 Ford Ranger. I bought it as a work truck with 95,000 miles in 2004 for $2,000. I had nothing but problems with it. I spent about $2,000 in various repairs. I only got to 111,000 miles when I blew the head gasket. I put it in a storage yard. Then I couldn't pay the storage fees, so I gave the lot owner the title. He chopped it up and used the bed as a trailer.

The Ford Ranger cost me more money in two years then the Honda CRX did in 20 years.

Best - 2003 Honda Civic SI. It took me 176,000 miles with roughly no repairs. (door lock actuator and CMC went out which was my fault because I added an aftermarket clutch).

Worst - 1993 Dodge Shadow. I bought this car in 96 as my first car and this thing spent more time in a shop then actually on the road.
