The worst car was my jaguar. It constantly broke down, needed a new motor and was a piece of junk. It was a 2003 x type meaning ford company made the transmission. From that point on, i vowed not to buy another ford or european car ever again. I also owned a dodge neon, and while it was a solid college car, it literally was made out of plastic. I traded it in with 106k miles on it but i knew the transmission was going to fail pretty soon. I had transmission problems ever since it had 45k miles on it. And the steering column just flat out broke on me which was a 1000 dollar repair....
i have seen a few very old Toyota Tercel (the little 4WD station wagon-looking thing) in the interior of Alaska. One seemed to be remodeled, painted with a light blue paint, and shiny wheels. I have also seen a couple of old Subarus, the early 1990's design with the close-deck motors, not the ones with the newer open-deck motors (in my view the latter are junk).

Best: SL550
Worst: Explorer (but it was still a decent car I was happy with)

Best car: Chevrolet Cavalier. I owned three of them, and bought my son one after he got his license. Great car for the money, and most reliable of all the cars I ever owned.

Worst car: Chevrolet Chevette. My ex-husband bought this worthless piece of junk from the husband of a co-worker who worked at a Chevrolet dealership. Right off the bat, it began leaking transmission fluid. No power and was next to impossible to service. My husband, who was a fairly decent shade tree mechanic, was at a loss. I came home from from work one Saturday to find him cussing and fussing because he had to go out and buy $60 worth of metric tools just to tune it up, declaring it "the WORST car he had ever worked on". I gently reminded him that car was not my idea, and was getting rid of it as soon as I got out of school---which I did.

Best: Lexus LS430 by a long shot. 13 years old now and zero issues, ever, other than control arm bushings and a door lock actuator. Still looks and drives like new.

Worst: Ford Taurus SHO (my first car). In the shop literally every two weeks, such bad quality i had to manually screw in the door jam things so they'd stay closed.

Best: 2006 300C. This car had every bell and whistle at the time and was just a beast with the heme. I could have driven it through a wall and it would have loved it
Worst ironically is the car I traded the 300 in on. 2010 Taurus SHO. Bought it in 2012 with 28K miles on it. It was plagued with transmission issues from the moment I took it off the lot. Multiple trips to the Ford dealership and multiple responses of "we cant duplicate". At 36K miles the backup sensor went out. The following week the AC stopped blowing cold. I cut my losses and traded it in on another 300

Best (so far): 2007 Hyundai Sonata -- with 30K bought it in 2008 traded it in in 2014 at 218K miles having only ever had to do maintenance and tires.......

Worst (so far): toss up between 1987 Toyota Tercel and 1979 Buick Regal. Toyota replaced the carburetor on that car at LEAST three times and it still ran like ... and that was just one of a LIST of problems.... Toyota probably spent far more on warranty repairs than I paid for it brand new..... The 79 Regal is probably self explanatory....

Ironically, the ex and I bought a 99 Regal that was a fantastic car!

Fortunately, all the cars I've driven have held up well over the years. If I had to consider one the best, it'd be my current car. 2005 Accord, 4 cylinder, 5 speed, only issues in its 190K miles have been a clutch master cylinder, starter, and an axle with a bad inner CV joint. I've been able to replace those and other wear items myself, and I probably have a much closer "relationship" with this car than my previous ones.
